I’m a GS graduate student in the Trapnell lab, especially interested in computational techniques for single-cell genomics, as well as neuro-development and comparative genomics. Originally from New Mexico, I did my undergrad degree at Reed College in Portland Oregon, where I studied hindbrain vocal circuitry in Xenopus with Dr. Erik Zornik. After that, I worked in the lab of Dr. Arpiar Saunders at the Vollum Institute of OHSU, studying the effects of neurotropic viruses and their interactions with host brain immune systems, with the additional goal of designing viral tools for single-cell resolved connectomics.

In my free time I love to read (favorite author: Terry Pratchett), cook (anything New Mexican), and collect goofy CLI tools (example: astroterm). I also try to go travelling as much as I can, and I love pickup soccer!
